The Ishikari Renewable Energy Data Center 1 is a next-generation facility under development in Ishikari City, Hokkaido. It is designed to operate entirely on renewable energy, making it one of Japan’s first regional data centers with a 100% clean energy commitment.

Construction officially began in October 2024, with full operations planned for April 2026. The project is led by Ishikari Renewable Energy Data Center LLC and supported by Tokyu Land Corporation, among other partners. It has secured ¥8.39 billion in funding to launch its operations.

This data center aims to serve as a model for sustainable infrastructure, leveraging local wind and solar power sources. It is part of a broader initiative to position Hokkaido as a hub for green digital development, aligning with national goals for decarbonization and regional revitalization.
