KCCS ZED Ishikari

KCCS ZED Ishikari Data Center, Japan

Kyocera Communication Systems’ Zero Emission Data Center Ishikari is located in Hokkaido, Japan. It spans 15,000 m² of land, with a total floor area of 5,300 m² and 1,100 m² dedicated to server rooms. The facility supports up to 400 racks and has a power receiving capacity between 2 and 3 MW.

The data center is powered entirely by renewable energy. It uses offshore wind from Ishikari Bay and solar power from an adjacent plant. A battery system and AI-based control enable real-time matching of energy supply and demand, achieving 24/7 carbon-free operation.

Cooling is handled through indirect outdoor air systems, taking advantage of Hokkaido’s cold climate. Waste heat is reused for underfloor air conditioning and road heating, contributing to local energy circulation.

The facility is designed for high-density compute workloads, including GPU servers. It supports future expansion with water-cooling systems and is optimized for generative AI applications.

Security includes 24/7 staffing, surveillance cameras, and biometric access control. The site is carrier-neutral and supports multiple fiber routes for robust connectivity.
